Effect of neutralization degree of methacrylic acid on hydrogel swelling and drug release

Drug delivery system is an amazing tool which widely used for drug protection and its controlled release in order to enhance bioavailability, reduce side effects therefore improve overall therapy. Hydrogels have been attracted great attention as carriers due their physicochemical properties, similarity the living tissues biocompatibility. One group of pH sensitive hydrogels are based on poly(methacrylic acid) (PMAA). These non-toxic because they swell a response change external environment being released during process. In present study, control rate, caffeine was encapsulated liposomes were further embedded into PMC hydrogel (PMCL). It investigated how neutralization degree methacrylic acid affect swelling PMCL two environments at 37 °C 24 h: 0.1 M hydrochloride (pH 1) phosphate buffer with value 6.8 6.8), simulation human stomach intestines, respectively. Obtained results show that potential poorly water-soluble drugs intestines.
